It’s August which means that it is CHALLENGE REVIEW TIME! Let’s go allocate those Pins (if you’re lost, check this page here) and announce the next month’s challenge. Let’s get started…
The July challenge was an editing challenge. I asked you to edit and submit one photograph of Arthur the Italian Greyhound. For reference, screenshots of the RAW files from my shoot with Arthur are below, each was labeled either A, B or C.

Anyone with an edit in either the shortlist or the short-shortlist or just the entries, in general, should be very, very proud!

But what is the August challenge? This month’s challenge is:
The “Indoor” Challenge.
The aim of this month’s challenge is to shoot and submit one image that was taken indoors. It could be indoor in a building in natural light, or it could be shot in studio, it doesn’t matter, as long as the image is not shot outside then anything goes. The subject can be anything – dog, horse, cat, penguin, pencil – I don’t mind! Only entires which completely meet the criteria below will be collected for judging.
How to enter:
- Select ONE image shot in the last 12 months (or shoot a new one!) to enter into the challenge
- Add “Indoor” in the caption along with the hashtag #ThatTogSpotChallenge
- Post your piece to Instagram and tag @thattogspot in the image
- (optional) Share the post to your story (bonus points for adding a before and after) and tag @thattogspot and #ThatTogSpotChallenge in the story
- Entries close at midnight (UK time) on the last day of August
Judging:
The image will be judged on all the normal things (focus, composition, clipped highlights or shadows, focus, exposure, editing quality (not quantity!), and white balance) in line with Print comps…
As always, no purchased/downloaded assets are allowed – these include overlays, composite elements and brushes.
The judging will take place at the start of September and the judge’s decision is final.
