It’s GO TIME!
From around 8:50am on the 7th June, you can join the Zoom workshop live to get started. We start at 9am [UK BST] and run throughout the day until closing at 5pm.
Is this for me?
This workshop is suitable for everyone, regardless of genre, style, experience, confidence or skill.
It doesn’t matter if you’re from England or Australia, Brazil or Taiwan, competitions are global and most play by the same rules¹.
Ever wondered why some people just keep winning all the awards?
Keen to gather that “award-winning” suffix for your name?
Feel confused about what does and what doesn’t do well?
No idea where to enter your work?
Want to run and hide at the first mention of “print comp”?
We’ve got you.
¹ Well, they kind of play by the same rules. You’ll understand what we mean in the workshop!
What’s in this Online Workshop?
This online workshop is led by Jessica McGovern FSWPP FBIPP, an international multi-award winning photographer with titles from the Societies, Guild, MPA, BIPP, ND Awards, IPA, FEP and more.
With over 245 image recognitions across both digital and print competitions worldwide, Jess is also an active sitting Judge for both qualification and competition work too.
In this full-day online Zoom workshop–complete with a couple of comfort breaks and a short gap for lunch–you’ll learn how to shoot for competition, and in extension to that, how to do damn well (or even win) in the process.
Using a variety of examples from numerous competition formats, you’ll leave knowing what it takes to hit the top scores and begin to implement the tips and tricks of the masters.

Participant Ticket for Shoot & Win
This ticket gains one individual access to the online workshop Shoot & Win, which aims to share what makes an award-winning image alongside delivering the ingredients needed to create one too.
It is not permitted for participants to self-record, screenshot, or otherwise save the content of this workshop. The training delivered is exclusive and covered by strict copyright under international law. Every effort will be made by the organisers to record the entire session for playback, though with the duration involved there is a chance that a recording could fail – please try to attend live wherever possible.
The workshop runs from 9am to 5pm [BST] on the 7th June 2025.
Participants should expect around 7 hours of training, with two 15-minute comfort breaks, plus a half hour for lunch in the middle. It is advisable to have a notepad or similar method of note-taking available throughout, as the information delivered will likely be non-stop (as most have come to expect with Jess’ sessions!). There will be multiple opportunities for questions and answers, the largest Q&A section will be towards the end of the session around 4:30pm.

How do I access the Workshop?
The session will be delivered live on Zoom for the entire day.
We’ll use one single-access link that all students with tickets to join will have delivered via email 48-hours before the start time. This link will be sent via email from [email protected] and it is important that you check you have this link the day it is sent, as the Tog Team won’t be in the office before 9am on Workshop day!
Around 8:50am on the 7th June, you should try to join the Zoom call via the provided link. It may be worth doing a test for your Zoom the day before, and if you need any help getting onto Zoom in the days prior, please let us know!
We commence with the workshop at 9am, please try to be on time.
Can MTogs join?
Of course! Anyone is welcome to join the workshop, and this one will join up all the dots, and then some, with the associated awards & competition resources in the Imaging section of the Vault well.
P.S. MTogs, your unique discount code will work on this ticket!
Will the Workshop be recorded?
Every effort will be made to record the day in full for those with tickets to play back at their leisure. However, the duration of the session may cause recordings to fail, so please note that no refunds will be given if students are unable to attend live and the recording is rendered incomplete.
